As I write this, I am sitting in the New York Public Library on 42nd Street in New York City (the one with the twin stone lions), one of my favorite places to work. Less than an hour ago, I witnessed an incident on the commuter train I take into Manhattan (Path train, Newark to Penn Station, New York). I saw two crimes committed on that train. The first crime was a willful, premeditated psychological attack. The second, was an angered response by the target of that psychological aggression.

The train was waiting in the station at Newark Penn Station. As I read my newspaper, I saw a young man, seated to my right, at the far end of the train car, suddenly stand up, and swiftly kick the face of the man sitting directly in front of him. He then quickly exited the train. I will not repeat what he said as he attacked this young man. However, his words, put in the context of that moment, gave me an extraordinary insight into what had just occurred. That man had been provoked, angered by one of the small, but unrelenting silent psychological triggers used by individuals colloquially termed “gangstalkers.” Gangstalkers are individuals employed by covert agencies to provide a constant stream of provocative and humiliating psychological assaults against a targeted individual.  The ‘gangstalker’ held his hand to his mouth as blood started to run from his busted lip. He held his cell phone to his ear, and was suddenly accompanied by two other well dressed individuals. From my long term experience as a target of psychological attacks, I sensed that these were Federal agents. No doubt, they were on this train as both observers and to provide direction for this now injured young man trained to engage in provocative silent psychological taunts.

Officers in the station were quickly contacted and all of the passengers, including myself, were moved to another car in the train. Anyone who has endured long-term psychological warfare and related covert torture can no doubt fill in the missing pieces here. Most likely, the young man provoked to respond violently here had been a target of repeated psychological attacks for some time. Federal Agents, it seems, have found a steady supply of cheap labor willing to do the work of taunting others relentlessly for them. This injured young gangstalker appeared to be a recent immigrant from a Central American country. I truly felt sorry for both him, and the fellow who attacked him. They were both victims of manipulation by the covert agencies developing these psychological programs.

Other ‘gangstalkers” and agents on the train were keeping a close, nervous eye on me. I am also a long term target of covert psychological torture. A number of them, all with cellphones and headphones, filled my train car. They had nothing to fear from me. In the twelve years I have been targeted (psychological attacks and covert directed energy weapons torture) I have not responded with a single act of violence be it verbal or physical. “I am not a part of your sordid world,” I thought to myself. “I refuse to think or act like you in any way. I soundly reject what you stand for and the senseless moral ground you’ve created for yourself.” I began to think of Bible principles that would strengthen my resolve to reject this empty cycle of violence just witnessed. In a way, seeing this incident has been beneficial for me. It has given me a powerful incentive to reject fully the violent thinking and behavior that befouls their world.

Ironically, as I continued to read my newspaper on the train, I discovered an article that fit this experience. Today’s paper (The New York Times, International, June 30, 2010) has an article entitled “France Makes ‘Psychological Violence’ a Crime” The new French law defines mental violence as “repeated acts which could be constituted by words or other machinations, to degrade one’s quality of life and cause a change to one’s mental or physical state.” Prime Minister Francois Fillon said the draft law would allow the authorities to deal with “the most insidious situations, which don’t leave a mark to the naked eye but can mutilate the victim’s inner self.”

For those currently targeted by psychological violence intended to “mutilate the inner self.” please keep this in mind: Two crimes were committed on that train, but only one criminal will be punished. The life of that young man who responded violently to psychological abuse has been ruined. He is the only one of the two guilty parties that will pay a heavy penalty for his crime. “It is better to be a live dog than a dead lion . . .” says a wise Bible Proverb. Please, do not become your own worst enemy by allowing anger or bitterness to become your master. “Return evil for evil to no one.” -Romans 12:17.  Refuse to be lured by the cycle of violence and keep living.

I also know that many of the young people who willingly sign-up to participate in psychological violence think that life is like an action movie where the star never gets hurt. Please think again. As today’s event so clearly shows, you are human collateral in the eyes of your handlers, body armor for cruel taskmasters in an evil world, nothing more.

I was on a bus, in suit and tie, coming home from the “Remain Close to Jehovah” convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses yesterday. One of my covert harassers (gang stalkers) sitting in the seat in front of me, began playing a song rather loudly on his cell phone. The lyrics of the song contained “trigger words” that have been used before by the stalkers. The bus driver stopped the bus, made an announcement that there is no radio playing on the bus and asked for it to be turned off. The request was ignored, At the next stop the bus driver repeats his request. The fellow playing the radio, (who could be perfectly typecast as a gang member in any movie) starts loudly cursing and berating the bus driver. However, he dropped a clue in his verbal tirade that blew his cover. “Don’t tell me to turn off my cellphone, just drive the bus.” You can’t tell me to turn of my phone. I got a job to do too. You do your job and I’ll do mine!” (Of course, I’ve cleaned up his language.) I was praying within myself that the bus driver would drop the issue because this harasser was really angry (vein bulging in the side of the neck angry!) and was quite likely to escalate the argument into an altercation if the bus driver pushed the issue. Thankfully, the bus driver was smart enough to stop talking to this man. I got off the bus at my stop, leaving the harasser behind.

This harasser-covert surveillance person was clearly someone with a violent past. However, he is not the first person of his type I have seen who revealed that this surveillance/harassment is a job for them. It appears that they are employed by some sort of “make-work” program (I believe that here in Newark it is colloquially termed Pest Control) that hires recently released criminals for the street-level psychological attacks and surveillance employed against victims like myself. This group, as one would expect, contains individuals whose violent tendencies lie just below the surface, and can be easily uncovered without much provocation. This is not the first time I’ve seen that violent streak flare up.

As I listened to this exchange on the bus, it brought to mind the stories I have read in the past about the Tonton Macoutes, a militia force used by Haitian Dictator “Papa Doc” Duvalier to violently repress opposition in Haiti. The Tonton were fashioned after the Fascist Blackshirts of Italy. The street level “gang-stalkers” I observe on a daily basis are also a “militia” in that they provide a form of psychological violence. At what point will they pass from surveillance and psychological attacks into physical brutality?

What a bizarre world we have become! One thing is for certain. We face an immediate future that will no doubt be more lawless and violent. The truth of the Bible’s statement that “. . . the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one . . .” (John 5:19) becomes more evident each passing day. However, it is my determination to follow the example of Jesus Christ, and to “love my enemies” and “pray for those persecuting me.” I make a daily effort to speak about the Bible’s hope for the future to all sorts of people, including those who participate in my harassment. Doing good to others is the best way for me to resist the corrosive effect my environment would otherwise have on my personality.

Addendum: To any of my “Brothers and Sisters” in the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses:

Jehovah is providing spiritual “food at the proper time” to meet our needs and concerns. I am sure you will find the publication released on the Saturday Program of the “Remain Close to Jehovah” Convention an extraordinary source of comfort and strength, helping us to cope with our distresses. Be sure to get your copy. I know you will be as deeply grateful for this evidence of Jehovah’s tender compassion for us as I have been.

“Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.”—Romans 12:21.

I often commute to work during off-peak hours, when trains are lightly traveled. It is quite common for my train car (New Jersey Path train from Newark to Journal Square) to be filled what are colloquially termed “gang stalkers.” These are individuals providing covert psychological attacks and surveillance in the campaign of harassment I have endured for more than 12 years. Today was one of those days when an unanticipated act of provocation could have led to an angry outburst. I will not go into the details of the incident. Like so many I have endured, it was designed to humiliate, and provoke an angered response on my part. Instead, I swallowed the humiliation of the moment, refused to allow anger to rise within me, and walked away. Who knows what the consequences would have been had I responded in the heat of anger! Rather than do the “macho” thing, I followed the counsel of my exemplar, Jesus Christ. I conquered.

Refusing to become angry meant keeping the situation, and myself under control. “. . . Because a live dog is better off than a dead lion . . .”Ecclesiastes 9:4 That proverb means that calmly enduring any momentary humiliation is far better than suffering the consequences of a lost temper. Truthfully, if we are caught off guard, we do have the tendency to act on impulse. However, if we learn to walk away from provocation in small events that occur from day to day, it will be our impulse to do so when such an unexpected encounter tests us.

I rejoiced after that incident, knowing that applying practical wisdom had given me the victory. I had also maintained a clean conscience, and acted in a way that pleases my Heavenly Father. Rather than fight, I conquered. I cannot take credit for this wise maneuver. After all, it would be the natural inclination of anyone harassed and tortured for twelve years to strike back. However, my working hard to cultivate the fine qualities taught in the scriptures has been a proven source of protection. You can enjoy the same benefits, by applying the Bible’s matchless counsel to “Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. Romans 12:17

During the Nuremberg trials, as Allied Forces placed officers of the Nazi Regime on trial for Crimes Against Humanity, a pattern of involuntary testing with nuclear radiation that would come to involve tens of thousands of unwitting victims was being conducted in the United States. This would include poor pregnant white women given radioactive cocktails under the guise of free prenatal care, orphaned children fed radioactive material in their breakfast cereal while housed in government institutions, and numerous hospital patients covertly injected with toxic doses of radiative material and left to die. The famed Tuskegee Experiment where hundreds of poor black sharecroppers were denied treatment for syphilis for years to provide corpses for medical research was conducted with the approval of the Surgeon General. This is just a sample of the abuses that can be directly attributed to human governments. This does not surprise students of the scriptures, wherein the inevitable result of human self-government is made clear: “Man has dominated man to his injury,” -Ecclesiastes 8:9

Typically it has been our poor, defenseless and minorities that have suffered the greatest abuse at the hands of government. Well, bolstered by the confidence that they can seemingly get away with anything, we are now witnessing Crimes Against Humanity that touch those who have typically felt privileged and secure.

Truthfully, I appreciate being able to see this unvarnished truth about human leadership with my own eyes. Granted, it is tragic and at times incomprehensible. But this is what it is. As we become more secular and materialistic in our viewpoint, it will only get worse. The restraint that even a flawed reliance on Bible principles exerted on government and morality (our so-called Judeo-Christain heritage) has dissipated. The selfish and cruel precepts of Evolutionary Psychology have given license to many of the modern atrocities against of human dignity and value.

To have “faith” literally means to believe that someone will keep his promises. It is an expression of confidence in someone’s will and capacity to fulfill his (or her) promises. Sadly. human leadership has repeatedly demonstrated that it often lacks the will and ability to keep the noble and soaring promises it so often makes. Therefore, putting “faith” in human leadership will always lead to disappointment. For good reason, then, the inspired Scriptures advise us: “Do not put your trust in nobles (human leaders), nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.” - Psalm 146:3

What is the solution? Jesus Christ, as King of God’s Kingdom, has been granted the ability and the right to exercise power universally. “And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.” -Matthew 28:18 The powerful works Jesus performed on earth were foregleams of even grander blessings to come under his rule as a perfect and trustworthy King. The depth of compassion and genuine justice he exercised toward the oppressed, the poor and despised are the qualities of a real leader. He has both the will and capacity to provide a permanent solution to the suffering caused by human rulership, and will soon do so.

“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom (government) that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms (all human rulership), and it itself will stand to times indefinite.” -Daniel 2:44

Jehovah’s Witnesses have consistently taught these comforting truths from God’s Word the Bible, while avoiding any involvement in the politics of any government. They have also, as a worldwide organization, demonstrated genuine love that transcends national, racial, and social boundaries. I am deeply grateful for the consistent Bible education they have provided and the certain, Bible-based hope for the future they have courageously shared. They can help you to find great comfort and strength in the Bible’s appealing solutions as well.
